Makeup Manual for Sensitive Skin and Best Mineral Makeup

Many mineral makeup formulations provide similar coverage to traditional makeup, made with chemicals, fillers and binders. Quality does not have to be compromise for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin. Mineral makeup is non-comedogenic, meaning it will not exacerbate acne or clog pores. Moreover, mineral makeup blends well, provides natural looking coverage and may actually calm irritated or sensitive skin.
Pick powder: - Powder cosmetics have fewer ingredients than liquid counterparts and are less likely to upset sensitive skin. If you're stuck on liquid foundation, however, be sure to select one that is silicone-based, which is known for not irritating the skin.
Eye Makeup: - According to the American Academy of Dermatology, eyelids are the most sensitive area of skin on the face. Look for lighter-colored, powdered eye shadow because it contains less irritating color pigments than brighter shadows. Avoid eye makeup containing shimmer or glitter. If you use eyeliner, choose a wax-based pencil liner rather than liquid eyeliner. Liquid liner contains latex, which can cause an allergic reaction on sensitive skin.
Do a Patch Test: - Doing a patch test is your best bet to protect your skin from potential problems when trying new products. Apply a small amount of the product to your inner elbow, wrist or behind your ear and wait 24 hours. If there is no sign of irritation or reaction the product is safe for you.
Check the Labels: - While choosing make-up products and cosmetics, look for the ones labeled 'hypoallergenic' and 'fragrance-free.' Though these terms do not have any regulations, it is definitely a good place to start.
Avoid Problem Ingredients: - Over the years, dealing with your sensitive skin might have let you know theingredients that are not the best for you. Create a list of ingredients that cause allergies or irritate your skin and make sure you avoid any products that contain them.
Throw out Old Products: - Old cosmetics do not just gather dust on the outside; they deteriorate from the inside as well. So, if you are still saving your lipstick from your wedding day, our waiting until you use all of your eye shadow, you might want to reconsider. Cosmetics that have exceeded their shelf-life can cause infections and irritate sensitive skin
Keep it clean: - Good hygiene is essential for every makeup routine, but it's especially important if you have sensitive skin. Make sure to wash your hands before applying makeup and keep your cosmetic tools clean. Also, don't share your makeup, which can spread germs.
Go Subtle with Eye Shadows: - Go light on your eyes and use eye shadow in earth tones, such as white, beige and cream. They have fewer pigments than darker shades and are less likely to irritate the eyes. Glow Eye Shadow Trio - Copper is a great choice. It has three colors - bright copper, peach, and cream shade all of which blends perfectly with each other and creates a dazzling affect on your eyes.

  1. Great that these products are vegan, and though I have not tried specific 'makeup' products by e.l.f. I have purchased e.l.f. shadow appliators, foundation/brow/and smudge brushes, eyelash wand and curlers and have found that these items are by no means built to last. Flimsy, the shadow applicators fell apart within two days of use, and the bristles on the foundation brush fall off regularly. My hunch is that they are cheap because you are indeed getting what you pay for, vegan or otherwise.
